Materials technologies are certainly not related to old fashion industries. New silicon steels contribute to higher efficiency electric motors and generators, supra-conducting materials are already contributing to increase significantly the output coefficient of these machines, new high strain materials and composites favor the weight reduction of transport vehicules, thus improving their energy consumption.
